AgriPOD - SolaRoof production food installation.
Greener than Greenhouses!
Created to address the worlds chronic food and water shortage while reducing the carbon footprint of existing greenhouses. It is suitable for both Urban and Rural use in areas previously considered unusable for growing due to lack of water and good soil. It is at the cutting edge in food production installations, saving water, increasing yields and its carbon footprint is dramatically small in comparison to traditional existing greenhouses, which in time, it will replace.
Molde Peace and Sustainable Eco-centre Pavilion. Toll House, Molde, Norway
The Pavilion has been designed to be a centre for the region inspiring sustainable life style and development. The pavilion has been developed to promote healthy eco-food production, innovative technologies and good Norwegian design and art.
Solar Green House Pavilion, Oslo
The pavilion was jointly designed by Bruce Michael Edgar, Geir Steigan and Bård Hans Sylling of Life Synthesis AS, to promote and demonstrate a revolutionary solar green house building system that uses a dynamic soap bubble technique for insulation.
National Museum at Vestbanen, Oslo
Competition for refurbishment and regeneration of a sensitive public site adjacent to Oslo Townhall (Rådhuset). The competition was to design an Art Gallery in a sensitive prime location of Oslo Harbour.
Upton, Northampton, England, UKThe project was the creation of a sustainable urban extension of 1350 dwellings to the Historic town of Northampton. It was designed to be seen as a natural extension of the growth and development of the town. Upton is a showcase of the latest thinking and concepts.
Norton Aerodrome, Sheffield, England, UKThis project included the development of a scheme as a potential Carbon Challenge site which would be an exemplar project for the cutting edge of sutainable urban design in the UK. This involved supervising and arranging a Collaborative design workshop with the local Sheffield council and local residents.
Gorton Monastery, Manchester, England, UKThe project was an exercise of improving the design and quality of a medium (69 dwellings) sized urban infill project in part of Manchester's urban surrounds. It was adjacent to a significant mid-19th century church designed by Pugin the Younger.
Filipstad, Oslo, NorwayThis project was initiated by the Foundation for Urban Renewal as an alternative to the planning processes that have been going on in this part of Oslo the latest decade. The plan shows 40 blocks of mixed use buildings, as a seafront development.
Sherford, Plymouth, England, UK
Sustainable urban extension of 5,500 dwellings on a Green field site on the outskirts of Plymouth in southern England. It was at the cutting edge of new planning philosophies, an exemplar project and demonstration the latest approaches being developed for sustainable urban planning and development.
Grace Hotel, Sydney CBD, NSW, AustraliaThis project included the care protection and maintenance of the building, as well design new commercial and interior design project for this wonderful historic, heritage listed 1930's Gothic Revival Hotel.
Rydalmere Hospital siteThe master plan for the Rydalmere Campus of the University of Western Sydney was prepared in 1997, when it was a redundant psychiatric hospital site owned by the NSW Government. Bruce worked on the site for over ten years as a specialist planner - architect in the NSW Department of Planning.
The rebirth of Whitefield
The PFBE carried out an Enquiry by Design and produced a Masterplan for the town to guide future development. This process involved not only statutory authorities but also had a significant contribution by the local communities at a number of public workshops and meetings.
Oporto Competition
Competition for refurbishment and regeneration of a sensitive public site adjacent to the River Doro, in the (world heritage listed) centre of Oporto. The project covered 3.5 km of historic river front and old town.
