Role: Bruce Edgar - Specialist Planner - Architect, Australia. Bruce worked on the project for 10 years. (1990 to 2000).

Project Description: As a heritage specialist planner Bruce was involved in the care, maintenance and management of this site from a redundant hospital site to the transfer from the Department of Health to the University of Western Sydney over a ten year period mainly from 1990 to 2000. He was also responsible for having the property listed on the State Heritage Register and the rezong of the site from hospital to educational uses and other suitably uses for heritage sites. In 1997, a Masterplan was prepared with negotiated details control guidelines for the site to minimise the amount of approvals required for a sensitive environmental zone that was almost 200 years, dating from 1813. Bruce supervised the planning consultant and numerous architects working on the site. As part of this work i took an active role Masterplan Working Party made up of all interested parties from all levels of Government, including State Regional and Local Agencies as well as local heritage and interest groups.
